We want to inform you that our schools are dedicated to ensuring the safety and well-being of our students and staff during the current Heat Warning. They will take all possible necessary measures to provide a safe and accommodating environment.
Parents have the option to decide whether to keep their children home to ensure their well-being during this period of high temperatures (when exams are not taking place).
Please keep a close eye on your email for important updates that may include changes in venues or activities for the rest of the week.
Montérégie Public Health Department Recommandation
1) Bring a reusable water bottle and a container of sunscreen
2) A damp washcloth in a resealable bag or ice pack can also be added to cool the neck if necessary.
3) Encourage the wearing of light, loose clothing and wide-brimmed hats.
4) Favor cold lunches (sandwiches, meal salads) and snacks containing a lot of water (cucumbers, celery, tomatoes, melons, citrus fruits, berries, apples, etc.)
5) Drink every 20 minutes, even if you do not feel thirsty. For children under 12, this is about 1/3 to 1/2 cup of water each time. For children with special needs, refer to the recommendations of their healthcare professionals.
