ELIGIBILITY TO TRANSPORTATION:
The status of eligibility for transportation is determined by the primary address in the student’s file. Transportation is provided to students who reside on our territory and who meet the following conditions:
- Kindergarten students who reside at a walking distance of 0.8 km or more from the school.
- Elementary students (Grade 1 to 6) who reside at a walking distance of 1.6 km or more from the school.
- High School students (Secondary 1 to 5) who reside at a walking distance of 2 km or more from the school.
BUS STOP LOCATION:
Students will not be required to walk more than the distance shown below from the nearest point of access from their property to the bus stop:
- Kindergarten 400 meters
- Elementary (Grade 1 to 6) 800 meteres
- High School (Secondary 1 to 5) 800 meters
MTRANSPORT:
Parents can monitor their child’s movements on the bus by receiving notifications whenever the vehicle has left the previous stop and when their child has boarded or disembarked from the bus. Students must use the card that was assigned to them (we recommend attaching it to the school bag).

SPECIAL TRANSPORTATION REQUESTS:
Parents must use the Transportation Department’s online platform for the following transportation requests (you must first create an account, then make your request):
- available seat (for students who are out of zone or who are walkers)
- second address (i.e. babysitter, grandparent)
- change of bus stop location (for safety reasons)
- questions
CHANGE OF ADDRESS:
St. Johns parents must send the following information to svasilopoulos@rsb.qc.ca:
- Child’s name
- The exact moving date
- The type of address (mother & father, mother only, or father only)
- Phone number(s) (home, work, cell)
- If transportation is required in the morning, after school, both, or none
- Two proofs of residence* (electronic bill, screen shot, or picture; it must include the parent’s name, the company name, and the parent’s address in the same image).
*Accepted proofs of residence:
- bank account statements or credit card statements
- deed of purchase of residential property
- driver’s license
- governmental document
- home or car insurance policy
- income tax notice of assessment
- invoice from an energy company (heating, electricity)
- invoice from internet, television, or telephone service providers
- municipal or school tax notice
- a lease is not accepted
DAYCARE AND TRANSPORTATION are connected:
- If your child is registered in daycare for five mornings, a morning bus cannot be assigned to them.
- If your child is registered in daycare for five afternoons, an afternoon bus cannot be assigned to them.
- If your child is registered in daycare for less than five mornings or afternoons, a bus can be assigned to them.
- Elementary students can be registered for morning daycare and have a bus after school.
- Elementary students can be registered for afterschool daycare and have a bus in the morning.
- If you need to cancel daycare to obtain a bus, please send an email to 01Daycare@rsb.qc.ca. It may take up to a week to process.
