Dear Parents of Students attending Riverside School Board Schools,
We would like to inform you of the impact of the province-wide situation regarding school transportation.
We have successfully signed contracts for Berline transportation (minivans and cars dedicated to school transportation). However, the companies that provide yellow school buses on Riverside territory have rejected the government’s latest offer.
It is important for parents to know that there may be service failures in the fall for the Return-to-School. If there are no yellow buses, parents will have to find alternative ways to get their children to school for an indefinite amount of time.
We are closely following the situation and will keep you informed about any new developments. Our next communication will be sent mid-August. Please note that during the summer shutdown we will not be monitoring the questions you may have on the subject.
Also, Réseau de transport de Longueuil (RTL) public buses which provide transportation to some of our high schools will be operating normally.
We thank you for your usual collaboration and understanding. In the meantime, rest assured that we are working with all the authorities involved in these negotiations to ensure school transportation for all, in time for the start of the school year.
